Leather has a special place in my heart as the perfume that inspired my interest in fragrance. The perfume oil version of Leather, in a roller ball, was the first full sized perfume I purchased. I had recieved a sample set from this brand as a Christmas gift one year and instantly fell in love with Leather. I remember wearing it while I was taking the bus somewhere and being unable to stop myself from smelling my wrists even though I was out in public. It surprised me that I could feel so strongly about a smell, that I could crave it so intensely. This scent is simple but rich: warm, soft suede and dry, luxurious sandalwood with a lovely spiciness from the pepper and clove. I love how versatile it wears; that's one of the reasons it's a go to scent for me in cold weather. During the day time, it's the perfect cozy smell to nestle in the knit of an oversized sweater. At night, the leather note takes on a dark, sexy roughness. Even now that I've expanded my taste in perfumes, I still want to bathe in this every time I open the bottle or apply this on my skin. The warmth of leather, sandalwood, and spices served as an opening for me into a new appreciation of scent, and Leather still remains a foundational part of my taste. (January 12, 2025)
